Step-by-Step Roadmap
How to Obtain an Oklahoma Real Estate License
Step 1: Complete a 90 hour pre-license "Basic Course of Real Estate Part I of II" (like this one!)
Step 2: Complete a background check through IdentoGo
Step 3: Apply for a provisional sales associate license* with the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (OREC)
Choose this license type if you have not held an active real estate license in the past five years
Step 4: Pass the PearsonVue Salesperson exam
OREC will share registration information once your license application is approved. $75 per exam attempt.
Step 4: Select a Broker to hang your license with
Many Oklahoma based schools are tied a brokerage to create a stream of new agents. Not here! No one will be recruited. We are here for you and you alone.
After obtaining your license, check back here for continuing education.
A few things to know
Applicants for licensure must be 18 years old
A high school diploma or GED are not required
You must provide proof of citizenship with your sales associate application. Check OREC's site for valid ID options.
*If you have previously held a real estate license in Oklahoma or another state, you may qualify for sales associate license or possibly a broker license.
